Creating Comfort: Textures Apartment by Studio Lema
The Textures Apartment serves as a sanctuary for a couple relocating to São Paulo for work. Studio Lema envisioned a space that prioritized comfort and coziness, anchored by a rich palette of textures.
Neutral Base, Rich Textures
Central to the project is a neutral base composed of varied textures, creating a sense of warmth and depth. Terrazzo flooring dominates the living area, complemented by Carvalho wood panels and an off-white Terracor texture on the walls, seamlessly extending to the ceiling for a cohesive look.
Seamless Integration
Wood panels discreetly camouflage doors to the kitchen and powder room, while also serving as a backdrop for dining and bar sideboards. The reading area features a wooden box concept, with Carvalho wood-slatted ceilings and a bespoke bookshelf, fostering a cozy retreat for the couple’s library.
Bringing the Outdoors In
Incorporating greenery indoors was a key design element, achieved through a planter along the glass facade, enhancing both thermal and visual comfort. The organic shape of the planter invites nature indoors, providing a serene space for relaxation.
Kitchen Oasis
The kitchen, a focal point for the couple, exudes functionality and style. Custom cabinetry maximizes storage, while ceramic pendants and wooden stools adorn the kitchen island, creating a welcoming atmosphere for culinary endeavors.
Unique Furnishings
Each piece of furniture was meticulously selected, blending client and vintage pieces with exclusive designs by renowned designers like Sergio Rodrigues and Jean Gillon. The result is a curated collection that adds character and charm to the apartment.
Calm and Timeless Elegance
The neutral palette enriched with diverse textures extends to the furnishings, with materials ranging from stones and metals to various wood species and fabrics. Splashes of color in select pieces infuse the space with lightness and sophistication, creating an environment that is both inviting and timeless.
